Alex
Zgolak (Hemi)
After the
first class we learned “come”. Hemi got out of the house
and ran for about 2 blocks. Once I caught up to him I
said “Hemi Come!”. He immediately stopped and turned
around. The information in class was very important in
solidifying this behavior. Now Hemi won’t leave my side
no matter where we are.
Christine
Chaika (Rushford)
We had
our 7 month niece over and used the “off” technique to
get our dog to stop licking her and it worked perfectly!
Jason &
Bridget Braley (Nya)
As new
dog owners, you find that every person you meet will
give you advice on the “right way” to train your dog. We
tried numerous approaches before attending the Purrfect
Paws Level One Obedience class. Nya has gone from a
hyperactive puppy to a polite, well-behaved dog over the
past 8 weeks. We are so glad we chose Purrfect Paws!
Lauren
Rittling (Fozzie Bear)
Fozzie
loved coming to class. We all learned to work together
as a team. Thank you for being so nice to our family! J
Kevin
Ahuna (Ripley)
Ripley is
our family’s first dog and Miranda and her staff have
done a fantastic job giving us the knowledge and skills
we need to be successful with and for him.
Laurel
White (Trixie)
Trixie
was the scarediest dog at the SPCA. She’d already lost
at least 2 homes. She was afraid of humans because she
hadn’t learned any manners. Since attending classes at
Purrfect Paws she’s a more confident dog. She has a plae
in my home and my heart forever.
Christina
Parker (Kenai)
Kenai and
I enjoy playgroup everytime we come. It is an incredible
benefit to have training monitoring the dog’s play.
Nothing ever compared to the fun, safe, inviting
environment at playgroup. Kenai loves playing with all
the dogs no matter their size. He is a gentle giant. He
and Kenai owe much of our happiness to Purrfect Paws.
Linda
Scott (Riley)
We came
to Purrfect Paws after attending second class for
obedience training somewhere else. We were totally
frustrated and felt hopeless. Tracie immediately put me
at rest and the rest is history. Riley’s biggest
accomplishment was when he darted for the beach and did
an immediate above face when called to come. That was
worth everything.
Juli
Wylegala (Sydney)
Sydney
came to class as a real social butterfly. She finished
the course not having lost her enthusiasm or friendly
nature, but has found a way to keep in check (at least a
little). We know the value of education and we know to
study and work hard – we can’t learn through osmosis!
Unknown
We
thought puppy class was a good experience – helped us
and out puppies to understand each other better.
Melissa
Hammond (Bella)
I came to
class with a very non-social puppy who barked and bit at
strangers. As the classes progressed she came to love
playing with the other puppies and was very friendly to
the other parents and loved Miranda and Laurie. The
class encouraged me that my puppy was not evil and was
in fact a very playful happy puppy who was just scared
at first. Now she is very sociable.
Mary
Ellen Cannon (Teddy)
Teddy was
a “wild man” as a young puppy. Miranda gave me a lot of
advice and tips to try which helped Teddy and me get
through to a much calmer pup without breaking his spirit
and without resorting to severe measures. He now is a
pleasure and a very friendly people lover and dog
sociable guy.
Brendan &
Jennifer Brady (Rosco)
Rosco has
enjoyed coming to each & every class. Both Brendan and I
looked forward to what we were going to learn and how to
train Rosco in the proper way. Rosco has really learned
better manners and loves to practice everything we learn
to “show off” in class. We have had a great experience
at Purrfect Paws and look forward to more classes at
different levels.
Nicole
Dommer (Bishop)
My
husband and I are first time puppy owners and we would
be lost training Bishop if not for the puppy obedience
class. Bishop (we) also love the playgroups. We attend
as often as possible! Bishop cannot wait to get out of
the car! Thank you for everything! J
Glenn
Diamond (Marni)
I have
been to may other trainings, playgroups and dog care
groups. I have never been to one where the staff is so
attentive to the dogs and their owners. I believe that
if the staff at Purrfect Paws could do this for free,
they would. I was so comfortable here. Other trainings I
have felt mixtures of stress and nervousness. None of
that was here. I looked forward to the classes and I
think Marni loves being here for any types of event. I
wish you guys did boarding as well. This will be my new
center for both of my dogs! Thank you.
Barbara
Delgross (Cookie)
We
adopted Cookie at age 7 months. She was very shy and
cautious. We didn’t know how to train and socialize her.
Through this class and her homework, she has come out of
her shell. She loves learning. Also, we use the positive
training principles for everyday behavior.
Scott
Woodruff (Maggie)
While on
the roof I was able to break up our 2 dogs from getting
rough with each other by saying “watch me”.
Barbara
McMichael (Owen)
Purrfect
Paws is Owen’s home away from home. He loves daycare and
playgroup and has really benefited from his time in
Obedience One. Purrfect Paws has helped me with the
challenge of training 2 energetic herdy dogs under the
age of 2 years old. I feel like I can always rely on
Tracie and Miranda to help me address any issues I have
with my dogs. I am very grateful for their support and
am glad that I learned about Purrfect Paws by chance
through a pamphlet I saw at my vet’s office 2 years ago!
Marci
Kopec (Hailey)
Hailey
was very shy at the first few classes. She was shivering
and stayed right at my feet. During the 2nd
half of classes she’s been extremely relaxed and
interested in her surroundings, but has been very well
behaved. She has even barked a few times.
Amy
Murdock (Sascha)
I had
tried a couple places prior to finding Purrfect Paws. I
had left after a few sessions. I found your facility to
be the best! Your classes are well organized and managed
to create a learning environment. You turned me onto
positive reinforcement and training with treats. A
philosophy I once didn’t appreciate. Everyone is
helpful, knowledgeable and caring. Thank you so much for
teaching Sascha, Dan and I soooooo much!
Danielle
Legg (Arcot Ramathorn)
Arcot and
I attended this class expecting very little, he is a
great dog and was simply joining his sister in class.
Prior to class his recall was a mess, barely there when
we went to a dog park where Arcot was off leash for his
very first time (after much practice) I wasn’t sure he
would come. Well, he darted off. Well out of my reach
and I relaxed and called him to come. He stopped and ran
back through the dust. He came right back. I thank this
class for getting my love back. I would be lost without
him. Thank you.
Karen
Bonvissuto (Samantha)
Samantha
and I came to Level I class nervous about being with
other dogs. Samantha lacked confidence and was easily
upset at the sigh and/or sound of another dog. Each week
we worked on her confidence and overcoming her dog-dog
anxiety. By the final graduation class Samantha (and I)
were confident and calm around other dogs.
Beth A.
Eustace (Walter)
Walter
started daycare at Purrfect Paws to overcome his fear of
other dogs. He overcame his fear and is doing great with
other dogs. Next, we needed to overcome his fear of
people. Miranda suggested an obedience class where other
people would be present. With much help from both
Miranda and Tracie, Walter is improving and we are
continuing our work together to overcome this final
fear. Both Walter and I learned a lot from the obedience
class. One of the most important things we “humans” need
to learn is how to help our canine kids to succeed –
which is one of the many things I learned. Walter is
still a work in progress! We couldn’t have come as far
as we have without his two best friend – Miranda and
Tracie.
Robyn
Repman (Rocky)
We had a
Labrador retriever for thirteen years. After we lost
Duke we got Rocky, our rambunctious Boxer puppy. We knew
from the get go Rocky needed some manners. I had never
taken a dog to class before. I decided to choose
Purrfect Paws. The small classes and the general love
for animals all the instructors have made the class
memorable. Rocky has grown leaps and bounds in the last
eight weeks. The very knowledgeable instructors made
this a wonderful experience. Thank you!
Tony &
Adrianne (Henry)
Before
class started, Henry was a handful to say the least. He
would play deaf and not listen, and cause havoc at every
turn. Since we have attended class, it’s like we are
starting to speak the same language. He is progressing
very fast and learning to be around other dogs, which is
a big plus! Also, it is so nice that after class and
working with him, we see the “jackyl” a lot less! (His
nickname as well as “monster”!)
