Purrfect Paws Applause

See what past clients have to say!

"Thank you so much for working with Jingles and Chester's relationship issues. Without your help we would not have been able to keep both of our wonderful cats. They are now making fast progress toward being able to peacefully co-exist."

~ Sally R.

"My wife and I have two American Pit Bull Terriers adopted from the local SPCA. Thanks to the time and patience provided by Purrfect Paws Animal Behavior Center, one of our dogs was able to work through significant dog fear issues that resulted in some dog-dog aggression. Also with the help of Miranda both our dogs became certified Therapy Dogs and are working with severely emotionally disturbed kids on a regular basis. We feel that part of responsible pet ownership is developing a relationship with your pet that clearly outlines the role of pet and owner with positive reinforcement, trust and love. Never a heavy hand. I feel that the folks at Purrfect Paws Animal Behavior Center work hard to help pets and their owners develop these positive relationships that really add to the joy of owning a pet. Thanks to the help of Miranda."

"Miranda has excellent communication skills and has a way of making people feel relaxed and comfortable. She exhibits compassion and understanding for both her human and animal clients. She is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about applied animal behavior. "

"Miranda Workman from Purrfect Paws Animal Behavior Center was able to help our SPCA dog Daisy continue her training and overcome her separation anxiety issues and related behaviors. Without her help, we may not have been able to keep this dog. Daisy is now happy to be a reasonably well adjusted "house and family dog" living a happy and comfortable life with us."

My name is Jenni Kreuz and I live in Buffalo, NY.  My first experience started out with hearing about Miranda being a behavioral specialist with dogs from a vet friend of mine. She came over one day to observe our dog at that time who came from a puppy mill and had very aggressive tendencies towards the children and people in general. After going through previous behaviorists I found Miranda to be very knowledgeable and thorough with our dog and really give us the right direction to go in with our dog.  A little while later we purchased another dog and right away put him in puppy socialization at Purrfect Paws Animal Behavior Center. They have been absolutely wonderful in taking a great interest in anyone's dog and offering any kind of advice you might have. Their place is very clean and friendly and you always feel welcome if you are either stopping by or have an appointment.  I would highly recommend them for training or just playdates with other dogs, I have been very happy with them.

I just wanted to say thanks for your guidance with Sammy. As you know, Sammy in my opinion is a special case. After owning labs before, I have never seen one like this. A lab who doesn't like to swim or play much fetch right off the bat raises eyebrows. When I met with you guys in June, I believe, it was the eleventh hour for our dog. We had seen a few other specialists and were at the time attending a weekly class by a another specialist who was HIGHLY recommended by a vet, to try and straighten out his aggression, or bad tendencies that he had. This had worsened and my wife and stepson were afraid of him and he did not act appropriate around them at certain times or in certain situations, nor did he with me. I was told or trained to use certain physical tactics on Sammy and eventually I would win. Well, things got worse, he got smarter to my tactics and it was a full fledge brawl every night when I came ho me... it was horrible, I was stressed out from it, he didn't know what was happening and I struggled to decide what I was to do.

I decided he was not a good fit for my family, but wanted to make sure I was making the right decision, and after talking with many breeders and specialists, it made things way more confusing. A woman from the SPCA recommended Purrfect Paws Animal Behavior Center for an evaluation, so we went up there and I was very hesitant about what they were telling me because at that point I just felt like its all subjective and it depends on who you talk with.

After the evaluation, they came up with some recommendations on what to do immediately. The big thing was that they said he was highly intelligent, which I had thought, but wasn't sure, and that he needed more or just as much "mental" exercise as physical. And to really use the positive reinforcements to get him to understand who is the boss...not him. We also started taking classes with them too. I canned the other specialist (he probably thinks I got rid of Sammy) because they were SO opposite in their training it would just confuse things more. And at this point, close to two months later, I have a dog we can enjoy, and even though he doesn't do everything that was taught in class, I have the basics installed in him and that's all I really need...baby steps. So thanks guys, and I hope to be back in the spring.
Thanks,

~ Adam D.
